Robotic Surgery
Dr. Brown offers robotic-assisted surgery as part of his minimally invasive general surgery practice.
What robotic surgery is
In robotic-assisted surgery, the surgeon sits at a console and uses computer technology to control the camera and surgical instruments through small incisions. The robot does not operate on its own; the surgeon controls every movement.
Depending on your condition, robotic techniques may be used for operations such as hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, hiatal hernia surgery and fundoplication, and colon surgery. Not every patient or operation is suited to a robotic approach. Dr. Brown will review your symptoms and imaging at your consultation and discuss which surgical approach fits you best.
